Austin scored a shocking upset when it eliminated Bob Jones, 28-22. At the time, the Patriots were ranked 11th in the state, while the Black Bears were 83rd.
Adding to the longest winning streak in 6A Region 8 this week, Florence beat Sparkman 69-43. This was the team's fourth consecutive win.
Buckhorn's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Dustin Scott threw for 86 and 1 touchdown and Calindo Fletcher had 59 yards receiving. On the ground Khari Blasingame contributed 256 yards. Steven Jones helped Buckhorn's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 10 yards.
Blasingame was a beast in the backfield as the Bucks fell to Hazel Green.
Blasingame was a passing and rushing force as Buckhorn lost to the Trojans. Blasingame's favorite target this week was Fletcher, who caught 3 passes for 59 yards.
Scott put up the best numbers through the air as David O'Conner's team fell to Hazel Green.
The Bucks' Scott and Fletcher led the league in both passing and receiving yards. Scott has thrown for 1,366 yards this season, while Fletcher has 29 catches for 549 yards. The Senators' Lorenzo James leads the league in rushing yards with 1,039.
Sparkman lost to Florence 69-43 last week, the largest margin of any game.
