Basketball Recap: Concord Takes a Loss

Concord was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 66-50 bruising from the Acalanes Dons. The Bears lost against the Dons in their previous head to head back in December of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 71-32 score last time.

When it comes to explaining why Concord lost, don't look at Devin Holman. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds. That's the most boards Holman has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Leonidas Garcia, who scored 13 points.

Concord's loss dropped their record down to 6-19. As for Acalanes, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 20-5 record this season.

Concord didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, an 87-44 defeat against Alhambra on the 10th. As for Acalanes, they have also already played their next game, a 75-65 victory against College Park on the 10th.
