Southwest scaled the state rankings by moving to 848 from 876 this week, the biggest jump in Imperial Valley. The Eagles climbed the ranks as a result of falling to Central 23-12.

Imperial added to the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Calexico, 49-14. The victory was the eighth in a row for the Tigers.

Imperial's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Chris Carter threw for 107 and 4 touchdowns and DaJon Staton had 86 yards receiving. On the ground Royce Freeman chipped in 136 yards. Austyn Smith helped Imperial's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 49 yards.

Kerry Legarra's team's dynamic duo of Carter and Staton proved tough for the Bulldogs to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Smith helped Imperial's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 49 yards.

He went 7-8 with 0 interceptions.

Palo Verde Valley's Logan Whiting and Damian Ramirez led the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-1 quarterback Whiting has thrown for 763 yards this season, while Ramirez has 38 catches for 976 yards. The Tigers' Freeman leads the league in rushing yards with 1,997.

Imperial's Carter needs only 54 yards against the Spartans next week to surpass 1,000 rushing yards for the season. In 73 carries Carter has put up 946 yards this year.

The Yellowjackets' Ramirez needs only 24 receiving yards against Calexico to crack 1,000 for the season. So far this year, he has garnered 38 catches for 976 yards.

The Tigers are currently in first, while Central is in third.

Palo Verde Valley lost to Brawley 58-7 last week, the largest margin of any game.
