Baseball Recap: Raleigh Beats Pelahatchie for Their Third Straight Win

Raleigh waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with a 7-4 win over the Pelahatchie Chiefs. The Lions have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Chiefs, too.

Deuce Carter made a big impact no matter where he played. He struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

Carter wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Damonta Keyes, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one triple. The dominant performance gave Keyes a new career-high in RBI. Another was Ryder Ivy, who scored a run and stole Two bases.

The victory got Raleigh back to even at 6-6. As for Pelahatchie, they dropped their record down to 5-10 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Coming up, Raleigh will head out to square off against Lake at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Lake's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last six games. As for Pelahatchie, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Raleigh at 7:00 p.m.
