Recap: Estero Wildcats vs. Canterbury Cougars

The Estero Wildcats's three-game losing streak came to an end on Friday. They walked away with a 59-48 victory over Canterbury. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Estero has managed all season.

Among those leading the charge was Lee Eckman, who scored 21 points. The matchup was his third in a row with at least ten points. Jacob Sander was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with nine rebounds.

When it comes to explaining why Canterbury lost, one person who can't be blamed is Kyle Scharlau. Despite the final result, he scored 17 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Scharlau has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Collin Meagher, who scored five points along with seven rebounds.

Estero's victory bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Canterbury, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Estero will take on Fort Myers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Fort Myers focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight on Thursday. As for Canterbury, they will be playing at home against Oasis at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Oasis focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Monday.
