Basketball Recap: Rain Comes Up Short

Rain extended their losing streak to six on Thursday, dropping them down to 2-12. They had to suffer through a 61-26 loss at the hands of the Mary G. Montgomery Vikings. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Vikings this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 49-35 back in November.

As for Mary G. Montgomery, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-4. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.5 points over those games.

Mary G. Montgomery found their leader in sophomore CJ Brown, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jaxon Collins, who posted 11 points.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rain and Citronelle will compete for holiday cheer at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Mary G. Montgomery will take on Daphne in a holiday battle at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
