            Football Recap: Perry Panthers vs. Benedictine Cadets        
        
		
        
        
            Perry was the  31-27 winner over Benedictine when they last played one another  back in October of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Panthers came up short against  the Cadets on Friday, falling  41-17. The Panthers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at  24-3.
 Although Perry took the loss, they still got scores from  Kam Oliver and  Castor Engelbach.
 Benedictine's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was   Eron Mallard, who picked up 138 receiving yards and two  touchdowns. Those  138  receiving yards gave  Mallard a new career-high.  Joshua Washington was another key player, gaining 138 total yards and a touchdown.
Perry now  has a losing record of 4-5. As for Benedictine, the  victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 6-2.
 We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Perry will  take on  rival Warner Robins  at 7:30  p.m.  on Friday. Meanwhile, Benedictine is set to  square off against  their familiar foe New Hampstead  at 7:00  p.m.  on Thursday.
