Basketball Recap: Jena Piles Up the Points Against Northwood

Jena won the last time they faced Northwood and things went their way on Monday too. The Jena Giants blew past the Northwood Gators 57-23. Given the Giants' advantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 108th, while the Gators are ranked 265th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Jena now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Northwood, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jena will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Tioga at 6:00 p.m. on January 28, 2025. Northwood also won't see the court for a while: their next match is against Peabody at 5:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025.
