League recap: Monona Grove tops Monroe to extend winning streak

Monona Grove extended the longest winning streak in Badger - South this week by beating Monroe, 45-0. This was the team's fourth consecutive win.

Fort Atkinson was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from fifth to third in the league. The Blackhawks defeated Oregon 49-20 earlier in the week.

Monona Grove's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Brett Percy threw for 34 and one touchdown and Trey Dummer had 20 yards receiving. On the ground Brock Offerdahl chipped in 92 yards. James Conner helped Monona Grove's passing attack out by catching one ball for 10 yards.

Monona Grove's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Silver Eagles feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Percy has thrown for 714 yards and eight touchdowns this season, while Conner has 10 catches for 264 yards. Conner leads the league in rushing with 301 yards.

A big matchup in Badger - South this week will be when Fort Atkinson takes on Stoughton. As it stands, Steve Mahoney's team is in third, while the Vikings are in second.

Edgewood and Milton played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with Edgewood eventually emerging with a 33-30 victory.
