Football Recap: El Capitan Takes a Loss + How To Watch

El Capitan extended their losing streak to four on Friday, dropping them down to 4-6. They were beaten by the Mount Miguel Matadors 42-10. The Vaqueros were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-0.

Despite the defeat, El Capitan saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Hayden Passanisi rushed for 88 yards, and also threw for 127 yards on 11 of 19 attempts.

As for Mount Miguel, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-3. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three contests by 21 points or more this season.

It was another big night for Jeremiah Loper, who threw for 276 yards and three touchdowns on only 12 passes, and also rushed for 50 yards and one TD. What's more, he racked up 149.3 passer rating, the most he's had since back in August of 2024.

As of now, neither El Capitan nor Mount Miguel have any future games scheduled.
