Recap: Holly Hill Academy Raiders vs. Curtis Baptist Crusaders
This season hasn't been kind to the Holly Hill Academy Raiders, who are still winless after their fourth match. They had to suffer through a rough 55-21 loss at the hands of Curtis Baptist. While losing is never fun, Holly Hill Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 242nd in South Carolina, while Curtis Baptist is ranked 85th in Georgia).
Curtis Baptist found their leader in underclassman Maci Butler, who scored 20 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Those 20 points set a new season-high mark for her. Bella Ramp was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with three steals.
Holly Hill Academy's defeat was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-4. As for Curtis Baptist, their win bumped their record up to 6-3-1.
Holly Hill Academy won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Dorchester Academy at 6:00 p.m. on December 15th. Curtis Baptist's road trip will continue as they head out to face Newberry Academy at 2:00 p.m. on December 21st.
