Softball Recap: Independence/Gilmanton Comes Up Short

Independence/Gilmanton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 15th straight loss dating back to last season. They fell 6-3 to the Melrose-Mindoro Mustangs. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Indees of the 11-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Independence/Gilmanton's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Melrose-Mindoro, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-0.

While Independence/Gilmanton had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
