Soccer Game Preview: Compton vs. Long Beach Poly

Compton hasn't had much luck against Long Beach Poly recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Tarbabes will be playing in front of their home fans against the Jackrabbits at 5:30 p.m. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

The home team had come away the winner the last six times Compton and Millikan had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Tarbabes lost 3-0 to the Rams on Monday. While losing is never fun, Compton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 998th, while Millikan are ranked 47th).

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Long Beach Poly, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Monday. Their defense stepped up to hand Woodrow Wilson a 1-0 shutout on Wednesday.

Compton's loss dropped their record down to 3-15-3. As for Long Beach Poly, their win bumped their record up to 9-7-5.
