Soccer Game Preview: Greenwood vs. Mauldin

Greenwood is 1-6 against Mauldin since March of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Eagles will be playing in front of their home fans against the Mavericks at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Greenwood headed into their last game having not scored more than one goal for seven straight, but Hillcrest let them put that streak behind them. The Eagles came out on top against the Rams by a score of 4-2 on Tuesday. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for Greenwood's offense, which had struggled in the games prior.

Meanwhile, Mauldin kept a clean sheet against T.L. Hanna on Tuesday. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Yellow Jackets. Mauldin haven't had any issues with T.L. Hanna recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Greenwood's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-7-1. As for Mauldin, their victory bumped their record up to 10-3.
