Preview: Washington Rams vs. Alhambra Lions
After two games on the road, Washington is heading back home. They will take on The Alhambra Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Last Friday, everything came up roses for Washington on the road against Carl Hayden Community as the team secured a 43-6 win. The win was just what Washington needed coming off of a 49-0 defeat in their prior match.
Alhambra can finally bid farewell to their 14-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Maryvale 53-6 at home. With Alhambra ahead 40-0 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Alhambra's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Keshaun Holmes, who rushed for 117 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries. Isaiah Rwanyamugabo was another key contributor, rushing for 88 yards and two touchdowns.
Their wins bumped Washington to 3-5 and Alhambra to 1-7.
Everything came up roses for Washington against Alhambra when the teams last played back in October of 2022 as the squad secured a 50-18 win. Does Washington have another victory up their sleeve, or will Alhambra turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
