Basketball Recap: Blue Springs South Comes Up Short

Blue Springs South was the 50-33 winner over St. Michael the Archangel when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Blue Springs South Jaguars fell to the St. Michael the Archangel Guardians 46-40. While losing is never fun, the Jaguars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 241st, while the Guardians are ranked 82nd).

This is the second loss in a row for Blue Springs South and nudges their season record down to 2-14. As for St. Michael the Archangel, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Blue Springs South Jaguars duke it out with the Raymore-Peculiar Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for St. Michael the Archangel, they will face off against St. Teresa's Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. St. Teresa's Academy will roll in looking for their tenth straight win, something St. Michael the Archangel surely won't give up without a fight.
