Soccer Game Preview: Kearns vs. Taylorsville

The Kearns Cougars will venture away from home to face off against the Taylorsville Warriors at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Kearns is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.2 goals per game this season.

Kearns is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to four goals on Friday, they were much more limited against Hunter on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Wolverines by a score of 2-1. That's two games in a row now that Kearns have lost by just one goal.

Their goal came courtesy of Alan Maldonado, who's now up to six this season.

Meanwhile, after soaring to eight goals the game before, Taylorsville was a bit more limited in their matchup on Tuesday. They came up short against Granger, falling 6-0. While getting shut out isn't ideal, Taylorsville haven't been shut out since back in March.

Taylorsville's defeat dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Kearns, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-5 record this season.

Kearns couldn't quite get it done against Taylorsville in their previous meeting back in March as they fell 2-0. Can the Cougars avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
