Kalida hadn't done well against Crestview recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Wildcats skirted past the Knights 3-2. This was payback for the Wildcats, who suffered a 3-2 loss the last time these two teams met.

Kalida wouldn't go down easily and took Crestview into a fifth set where they got it done with a seven-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 22-25, 26-24, 25-20, 26-28, 15-8.

Malia Romes paced Kalida's offense, picking up 25 kills. Romes got some help from Gwen Stechschulte and her 36 assists. Romes was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Kalida is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season. As for Crestview, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-6.

Kalida didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-1 defeat against Leipsic on the 2nd. As for Crestview, they have also already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Jefferson on the 30th.
