Basketball Recap: Mount Tabor Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Mount Tabor and McDowell squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Mount Tabor had to settle for second. They had to suffer through a 57-30 loss at the hands of the McDowell Titans. The Spartans were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-13.

Mount Tabor's loss came despite strong showings from Millie Scurry and Shaymiah Bailey. Scurry posted 12 points, while Bailey dropped a double-double with 11 points and 12 rebounds. That was a full 36.7% of Mount Tabor's points, marking the third time in a row Bailey has scored more than a third of the team's points.

This is the second loss in a row for Mount Tabor and nudges their season record down to 9-16. As for McDowell, the win keeps them at an undefeated 27-0.

Mount Tabor does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for McDowell, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 65-38 victory against Alexander Central on the 28th.
