Gavin Variano posted a new career-high in strikeouts on Thursday. As a matter of fact, he produced his best game of the campaign: he struck out 13 batters over five innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

Coming up, Variano and DePaul College Prep are taking a road trip to challenge Fenwick at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Rams have some work to do to even out the 1-9 series between these two since May of 2018, but a win here would be a good start.
