Softball Game Preview: Sierra Pacific Golden Bears vs. Immanuel Eagles

Sierra Pacific hasn't had much luck against Immanuel recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Golden Bears will welcome the Eagles at 4:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Sierra Pacific comes in on three and Immanuel on five.

On Friday, Sierra Pacific made easy work of Washington Union and carried off an 18-6 win.

Sierra Pacific got a massive performance out of Brooklyn Webb, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI and two runs. Miranda Reyes was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Sierra Pacific was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .515. They are 6-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Meanwhile, Immanuel hadn't done well against Kingsburg recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Eagles sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 victory over the Vikings.

Amanda Herrera spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on five hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Natalia Delgadillo, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March.

Immanuel's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-5-2. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Sierra Pacific, their win bumped their record up to 14-10.
