The United Longhorns will square off against the Medina Valley Panthers at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Having struggled with four defeats in a row, United turned things around against Del Rio on Friday. They walked away with a 6-2 victory over the Rams.

Tatiana Mejia was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in strikeouts. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. That home run was her first of the season.
Mejia wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Delani Perez, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Another was Regina Rodriguez, who scored two runs and stole a base.
Meanwhile, Medina Valley got the win against Alexander on Friday by a conclusive 8-2. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won six contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Lyssy Salazar looked comfortable as she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Medina Valley let Claire Boehme and Kamyluh Dow run wild. Boehme scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3, while Dow scored three runs and stole Three bases. Arielle Chichester was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
The win made it two in a row for Medina Valley and bumps their season record up to 8-6. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to strikeouts: they averaged an imposing 9.5 strikeouts in those games compared to only 3.5 in the others. As for United, their victory bumped their record up to 7-12-1.
Tuesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. United hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .326. However, it's not like Medina Valley struggles in that department as they've averaged .395. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
