Baseball Recap: Bellefonte's Winning Streak Snapped at Four Games

Bellefonte dropped their record down to 5-5 on Wednesday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins. They lost 13-3 to the Hollidaysburg Golden Tigers. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Raiders have suffered since March 18th.

Bellefonte saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Parker Capparelle, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double. Quentin Crouthamel also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

As for Hollidaysburg, their record is now 6-3. The result was nothing new for the Golden Tigers, who have now won three matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

On Hollidaysburg's side, Brady Steiner made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. Steiner has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three runs and one double. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Hollidaysburg let Josh Banks and Cayden Gibbons run wild. Banks went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI, while Gibbons went 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. Banks has become a key player for Hollidaysburg: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 2-3 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Jay Albarano, who went 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Bellefonte didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 5-2 win against Bald Eagle Area on the 22nd. As for Hollidaysburg, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 9-0 victory against Bishop Guilfoyle on the 22nd.
