Volleyball Recap: Carlsbad Starts Season with Loss at Home + How To Watch

Carlsbad unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They lost 3-0 to the Centennial Hawks on Thursday. The Cavemen/Cavegirls haven't had much luck with the Hawks recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.

Carlsbad was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Centennial work for it, especially in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-12, 28-26.

Centennial had a senior duo take command as Jocelyn Perez had 12 digs and nine aces and Giovanni Sophia Monroy had 20 digs and one assist.

Carlsbad wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-2 loss against Mayfield on the 23rd. As for Centennial, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Roswell at 9:00 a.m. on September 5.
