Volleyball Recap: Helena Comes Up Short at Home Against Gulf Shores + How To Watch

Helena unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They lost 3-0 to the Gulf Shores Dolphins on Thursday. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it four in a row.

Helena couldn't get the win, but they sure gave Gulf Shores a tough time in the second set. The final score came out to 25-13, 31-29, 25-18.

Sydney Strawbridge paced Helena's offense, picking up six kills. Strawbridge got some help from Maddie Morris and her 11 assists. Mady Mamucud and Ella Willmon kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with two aces apiece.

Helena has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Mortimer Jordan on the 23rd. As for Gulf Shores, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-0 victory against Hoover on the 22nd.
