Volleyball Recap: Newman Takes a Loss

Newman was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the Covenant Christian Academy Cougars.

The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-22, 25-11.

Grace Motroni had a dynamite game For Covenant Christian Academy., getting nine aces and four digs. That's the most aces Motroni has posted over her last eight contests.

Newman's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Covenant Christian Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season.

Newman will head out on the road to challenge Marie Philip at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Covenant Christian Academy, after both having extra time off, they and Montrose will shake off the rust and duke it out at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
