Mesa Verde entered their tilt with Golden Sierra on Thursday with eight consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with nine. They put the hurt on the Grizzlies with a sharp 8-2 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 11-6 on Tuesday.

Casey Purcell spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on five hits and racked up six Ks. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Max Biondo was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Mason Nelson, who went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases and three RBI.

Mesa Verde's record now sits at 14-5. As for Golden Sierra, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-7 record this season.

Mesa Verde will welcome Kennedy at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Golden Sierra, they are taking a road trip to face off against Woodland Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
