Baseball Recap: Elida Wins Going Away Against Floyd

Elida had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. Everything went their way against the Floyd Broncos on Monday as they made off with a 28-7 win. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by 12 runs or more this season.

Radlee Ferguson and Bodey Fraze made a big impact no matter where they played. Throwing, Ferguson tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Fraze tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Ferguson also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Elida is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 2-3 otherwise. At the plate, Ferguson scored five runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-5, while Fraze scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4. Those five runs gave Ferguson a new career-high.

In other batting news, Elida got a massive performance out of Hardy Fraze, who went 3-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most RBI Fraze has posted since back in April of 2024. James Dobbins was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing four bases while going 3-for-5.

Elida always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Elida's victory bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Floyd, they are on an 18-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.
