Basketball Game Preview: Jackson Prep Patriots vs. Madison-Ridgeland Academy Patriots

Jackson Prep and Madison-Ridgeland Academy are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2021, but not for long. The Jackson Prep Patriots will be playing at home against the Madison-Ridgeland Academy Patriots at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Jackson Prep is returning to their home court after beating Presbyterian Christian on theirs, despite the fact Presbyterian Christian has dominated at home this season. Jackson Prep walked away with a 38-31 win over Presbyterian Christian on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Patriots.

Meanwhile, Madison-Ridgeland Academy came tearing into Friday's match with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22.5 points) and they left with even more momentum. They took down the Hawks 53-35. Given the Patriots' advantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked tenth, while the Hawks are ranked 96th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Jackson Prep has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.0 points per game. As for Madison-Ridgeland Academy, their victory was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 21-5.

Jackson Prep didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Madison-Ridgeland Academy in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, but they still walked away with a 45-41 win.
