Basketball Recap: Mullins Falls Despite Big Games from Breanna Ford and Aliyah Tisdale

While it was all tied up 27-27 at halftime, Mullins was not quite Burke's equal in the second half on Monday. The contest between them and the Burke Bulldogs didn't end well, with the Mullins Auctioneers falling 66-50. The Auctioneers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Mullins' loss came despite strong showings from Aliyah Tisdale and Breanna Ford. Tisdale posted 11 points, while Ford put up 15 points. Ford's evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least 15 points.

Burke got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Bryanna Graham out in front who dropped a double-double with 14 points and 11 assists. The dominant performance gave Graham a new career-high in assists. Another player making a difference was Nathaya Phoenix, who went 7-for-17 to rack up 21 points and seven boards.

Mullins' defeat dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Burke, they are on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 15 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-6 record this season.

Mullins does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Burke, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 40-34 loss against Kingstree on the 20th.
