Basketball Recap: Port St. Lucie Starts off Right with Win over Forest Hill

Port St. Lucie took care of business in their home opener on Tuesday. They walked away with a 48-39 victory over the Forest Hill Falcons. For the Jaguars, this counts as revenge for the 65-27 win the Falcons walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2018.

Port St. Lucie's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Bryan Desgrottes, who posted 17 points and seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaac Sylvain, who had 12 points and seven boards.

Port St. Lucie smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in eight consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Forest Hill's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Port St. Lucie will welcome Morningside Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Forest Hill, they will square off against Jensen Beach at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
