Baseball Game Preview: Kennedy Cougars vs. Western Dubuque Bobcats

The Kennedy Cougars will face off against the Western Dubuque Bobcats at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.

Kennedy is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Iowa's top teams: Xavier, who was ranked tenth at the time (Kennedy was ranked 18th). The Cougars fell just short of the Saints by a score of 13-12 on Friday.

Meanwhile, Western Dubuque waltzed into their matchup on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with an 8-3 win over the Rams. The game marked the Bobcats' most dominant victory of the season so far.

Western Dubuque pushed their record up to 4-1 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.7 runs over those games. As for Kennedy, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-6.

Kennedy came up short against Western Dubuque in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, falling 13-8. Can the Cougars avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
