Softball Recap: CORE Butte Takes a Loss

The CORE Butte Lynx didn't have quite enough to beat the Paradise Bobcats on Wednesday and fell 7-5.

CORE Butte saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mara Gonzalez, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-4.

CORE Butte has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season. As for Paradise, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-8 record this season.

CORE Butte will square off against Maxwell at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Paradise, they will take on Colusa at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Bobcats' pitchers better be ready for this one: the RedHawks have averaged an impressive 9.5 runs per game this season.
