Baseball Game Preview: Whittier Cardinals vs. El Rancho Dons

For the second straight game, Whittier will face off against El Rancho. The Cardinals will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against the Dons at 3:15 p.m. Whittier has now lost ten straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since March 25.

Monday just wasn't the day for Whittier's offense. They fell 4-0 to El Rancho on Monday. That's two games in a row now that the Cardinals have lost by exactly four runs.

For El Rancho's part, not much got past Alex Aparicio, who gave up just three hits and racked up seven Ks to keep Whittier off the board. Aparicio also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because the Dons are 4-2 when he allows at most one earned run, but 10-11 otherwise.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Alexander Moraza, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one double. Another player making a difference was Octavio Urbina, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

Whittier's defeat dropped their record down to 6-17. As for El Rancho, they now have a winning record of 14-13.
