Volleyball Recap: Cobden Takes a Loss

Cobden lost against Steeleville back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Appleknockers fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 2-1. The Appleknockers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Cobden sadly dropped the once that decided the match. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-10, 18-25, 25-15.

Natalie Franklin paced Cobden's offense, picking up ten kills. Franklin got some help from Amelia Long and her 17 assists. Finally, Keela Kaszubski kept Cobden's defense grounded, leading the team with two blocks.

Cobden now has a losing record of 14-15. As for Steeleville, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-12 record this season.

Cobden will be playing in front of their home fans against Crab Orchard at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Steeleville, they will head out to challenge Dupo at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
