Basketball Game Preview: Holly Pond Broncos vs. Hanceville Bulldogs

The Holly Pond Broncos are taking a road trip to challenge the Hanceville Bulldogs at 5:45 p.m. on Friday.

Holly Pond easily dispatched Pennington last Tuesday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. Holly Pond fell just short of Vinemont by a score of 36-34 on Tuesday. The defeat continues a trend for the Broncos in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now lost four in a row.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hanceville). They blew past Oak Grove 64-27 on Thursday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

The victory snapped Hanceville's losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 8-12 record. As for Holly Pond, their loss dropped their record down to 15-6.

Holly Pond was able to grind out a solid win over Hanceville in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, winning 59-46. The rematch might be a little tougher for Holly Pond since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
