Softball Recap: Captain Shreve Takes a Loss

If Captain Shreve was feeling good fresh off their 18-3 takedown of Northwood last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Captain Shreve lost 9-1 to the Airline Vikings on Tuesday. The Gators were not able to make up for their defeat to the Vikings from their previous meeting back in March of 2024.

Aubry Townsend was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run.

Captain Shreve's loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 12-10. As for Airline, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Captain Shreve is set to square off against their familiar foe Parkway at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Airline will face off against rival Benton at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
