Softball Recap: Houston Christian Has No Trouble Against Legacy School of Sport Sciences

Houston Christian won the last time they faced Legacy School of Sport Sciences and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Houston Christian Mustangs put the hurt on the Legacy School of Sport Sciences Titans with a sharp 12-2 win. The Mustangs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Millie Metz made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out six over five innings pitched. What's more, she gave up only zero hits, the fewest she's had since back in February of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Houston Christian let Yazmine Johnson and Quincy Zoretic run wild. Johnson went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base, while Zoretic scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Maddie Pickett, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2.

Houston Christian hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Houston Christian now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Legacy School of Sport Sciences, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-5.

Houston Christian and Legacy School of Sport Sciences could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. Houston Christian will face off against HCYA at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday down 356 places (486 vs. 130). Similarly, Legacy School of Sport Sciences (ranked 899th) will meet Kinkaid (ranked 400th) at 4:30 p.m. on April 1st.
