Softball Recap: Liberty Magnet Comes Up Short

The Liberty Magnet Patriots lost 29-19 to the False River Gators on Friday. The Patriots have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Miracle Sanders led a balanced group of hitters, scoring two runs and stealing Four bases. while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances. Tai Chaney was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing Four bases. while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.

Even though they lost, Liberty Magnet always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .738. This was only their second loss (out of six games) when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Liberty Magnet's defeat dropped their record down to 4-8. As for False River, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-6 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Liberty Magnet will welcome St. Joseph's Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Liberty Magnet is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.4 runs per game this season. As for False River, they will be playing at home against Edna Karr at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Edna Karr also hasn't been messing around on offense: they've averaged 7.6 runs per game.
