Volleyball Recap: Vernon Hills Comes Up Short

Vernon Hills was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Niles West Wolves. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wolves this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-1 last Tuesday.

Vernon Hills' defeat dropped their record down to 6-21. As for Niles West, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 18-10.

Looking ahead, Vernon Hills is taking a road trip to face off against Maine West at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Niles West, they will square off against Maine East at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Blue Demons will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Wolves surely won't give up without a fight.
