Soccer Recap: Riverdale Ridge Finds Playoff Glory Versus Montrose

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Riverdale Ridge had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Montrose Red Hawks. This was payback for Riverdale Ridge, who suffered a 2-1 loss the last time these two teams met.

They hit Montrose with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Teegan Warren, Abby Hawkins, and Caitlin Mazurek.

Riverdale Ridge has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-3-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 45 goals over those 11 matchups. As for Montrose, they moved to 8-6-2 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Looking ahead, Riverdale Ridge will square off against Durango at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Durango will roll in looking for their 14th straight win, something Riverdale Ridge surely won't give up without a fight. Montrose does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
