Norwalk is a perfect 4-0 against Paramount since March of 2023 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Norwalk Lancers will host the Paramount Pirates at 3:15 p.m.

Norwalk fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Mayfair on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Monsoons by a score of 8-7. Lancers fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Monsoons since on Friday.

Marcus Castillo was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.

Meanwhile, Paramount made easy work of Dominguez on Friday and carried off a 9-1 win. That eight run margin sets a new team best for the Pirates this season.

Diego Padilla made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). Padilla was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-4.

In other pitching news, Raymundo Banuelos looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched.

Back at the plate, Paramount got a big performance out of Jacob Lara, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was David Serrano, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Paramount hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Dominguez struck out 11 times.

Paramount has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 3-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.5 runs over those games. Norwalk now has a losing record of 3-4.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Norwalk has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.4 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Paramount struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8.9 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.

Norwalk beat Paramount 6-3 when the teams last played back in February of 2024. Will Norwalk repeat their success, or does Paramount have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
