Softball Game Preview: Churubusco Eagles vs. Eastside Blazers

Churubusco hasn't had much luck against Eastside recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Eagles will be playing at home against the Blazers at 5:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

While Churubusco didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-16), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They were the clear victors by an 11-4 margin over Lakeland on Tuesday. The game was the first time the Eagles have beaten the Lakers on their field since May 19, 2021.

Eastside never got on the board in their matchup on Friday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Lakewood Park Christian on Monday. They put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 20-2 win. The Blazers haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Eastside's win bumped their record up to 9-3. As for Churubusco, their victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 8-2.
