Baseball Game Preview: Valley Tigers vs. Mason City Mohawks

The Valley Tigers will face off against the Mason City Mohawks on Monday. Valley is coming into the contest hot, having won their last seven games.

Valley's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Saturday. They came out on top against Roosevelt by a score of 5-0.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Mason City and Fort Dodge meet (two straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Friday. The Mohawks walked away with a 6-2 victory over the Dodgers.

Mason City is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a massive bump to their 22-12 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for Valley, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 24-12.
