Softball Recap: Camden Hills Has No Trouble Against Lincoln Academy

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Camden Hills). They blew past the Lincoln Academy Eagles 16-1 on Monday. The win continues a trend for the Windjammers in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won three in a row.

Thea Laukka made a splash while hitting and pitching. She pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Laukka was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with three runs and one stolen base. Those three runs gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Maya Stone was a standout: she got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs, one double, and one RBI. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Charlotte McGreevy, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI and one run.

Camden Hills was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .455. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive matches.

Camden Hills' record now sits at 2-3. As for Lincoln Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-2.

Looking ahead, Camden Hills will host Belfast at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Lions will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something the Windjammers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Lincoln Academy, they will venture away from home to take on Morse at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Eagles are facing the Shipbuilders at the right time seeing as the Shipbuilders are stuck on a six-game losing streak.
