Baseball Recap: Mukwonago Find Success

Mukwonago won the last time they faced Waukesha West and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Indians came out on top against the Wolverines by a score of 8-3. While the Indians didn't have the best season last year (they finished 11-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Easton Ahrens looked comfortable as he tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Adam Kudronowicz, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Isaac Teisl was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three runs.

The win made it two in a row for Mukwonago and bumps their season record up to 8-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 5 runs in those games. As for Waukesha West, they dropped their record down to 3-5 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Mukwonago will take on rival Muskego at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Indians 3.8, the Warriors 3.5) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Waukesha West is set to challenge their familiar foe Arrowhead at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
