The Dalton Bulldogs will venture away from home to face off against the Canton South Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Dalton is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7 runs per game this season.

Canton South will be up against a hot Dalton team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. The Bulldogs put the hurt on Smithville with a sharp 12-6 win on Tuesday. The Bulldogs' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Skylar Fletcher spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned (and one unearned) runs on eight hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Lily Teague, who went 1-for-5 with one home run and four RBI. Hannah Wenger was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-5.

Teague wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Dalton kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in five consecutive games.

Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Canton South ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They came out on top against Minerva by a score of 10-6. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Wildcats considering their one-run performance the matchup before.

The victory got Dalton back to even at 3-3. As for Canton South, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Dalton couldn't quite get it done against Canton South in their previous matchup back in May of 2022 as they fell 9-5. Can the Bulldogs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
