Baseball Recap: Richland Comes Up Short

Richland suffered their closest loss since May 15, 2024 on Thursday. They fell just short of the Mt. Pleasant Tigers by a score of 8-6. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Raiders of the 12-11 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2024.

Richland dropped their record down to 2-7 with the loss, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Mt. Pleasant, their win bumped their record up to 6-4.

Coming up, Richland will look to defend their home field on Monday against Cornersville at 5:00 p.m. Richland is facing Cornersville at the right time seeing as Cornersville is stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Mt. Pleasant, they will square off against Eagleville at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Eagleville will roll in looking for their tenth straight victory, something Mt. Pleasant surely won't give up without a fight.
