Basketball Recap: Loris Lions vs. Georgetown Bulldogs
In what's become a running theme this season, the Loris Lions gave their fans yet another huge victory on Friday. They breezed by Georgetown at home to the tune of 67-11. While fans of Loris might be used to big wins, the 56-point margin marked the team's biggest victory yet this season.
Leading Loris to victory were Dazena Capers and Janiya Richburg. Capers scored 17 points along with five steals, while Richburg dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 rebounds. Richburg is crushing the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Mariasia Moody, who scored 14 points along with three steals.
Loris pushed their record up to 11-13 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.0 points per game. As for Georgetown, they are on a 12-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-20.
Coincidentally, Loris and the Bulldogs will both be playing the Blue Jackets the next time they take the court. Georgetown will host Aynor at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, while Loris will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
