Volleyball Recap: Hanks Comes Up Short

Hanks was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat dating back to last season. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Richland Royals.

Casey Saenz paced Hanks' offense, picking up 11 kills. Saenz got some help from Ariana Guillen and her 13 assists. Finally, Alexis Avila kept Hanks' defense grounded, leading the team with two blocks.

Hanks' loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Richland, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.

Hanks has already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against Canutillo on the 15th. As for Richland, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 2-0 loss against Colleyville Heritage on the 15th.
